Burning coal and hammering steel make my day. As the slag flys and steel burns hot, the birth begins. You can see it with each blow. As with childbirth, there must be pain. Blow after blow, the mountain gets taller, the road narrows, still I must forge and grind. I stalk the buck, he must give up his horns, ivory evades me, the fit is no good. The shine will not come, only disappointment and dispair plague me. Where is this ghost I pursue? My mother said "Love never fails."
